LR - Proof the Basics – LV 2 (6 Weeks)

Service Description

This 6-week course is designed to take your dog’s obedience to the next level by focusing on real-world reliability. We build on the foundation from Level 1 by adding distance, duration, and distraction — teaching your dog how to stay calm, focused, and responsive even when the environment gets exciting. Throughout the course, we’ll work through everyday scenarios such as walking past other dogs, holding commands during greetings, and managing arousal in busy settings. The final class will be held off-property at Maffeo Sutton Park, where you’ll practice your skills in a real-world environment with professional guidance and support. Skills Taught: Structured heel past distractions (people, dogs, moving objects) Longer duration place and down-stays Recall with mild to moderate distractions Front position (beginning stages of recall-to-front) Polite greetings and manners in new settings Proofing obedience under pressure Note: This class is ideal for dogs who have completed Obedience Level 1 and are ready to advance their skills in more stimulating environments. If you’re unsure whether your dog is quite ready for the next step, you’re welcome to retake Level 1 at a discounted rate (same handler and dog).
